Mini USA develops iPhone App for Roadside AssistanceGM vehicles may have Onstar to assist owners in a troubling situation but now Mini owners have the iPhone!  Mini USA and Allstate have developed a new application that connects users to roadside assistance while automatically supplying the service provider with all relevant information about the vehicle, most importantly, its exact location. So when your cruising the Mini and run out of fuel, have a flat, experience engine problems or for whatever reason stuck on the side of the road, grab your iPhone, tap the app and let it do the rest. Google Voice App Rejected
August 23, 2009 at 4:40 pm

google-voice-rejectedThe Federal Communications Department wants to know why Apple rejected Google's new voice app from its iPhone app store. The Google Voice service, which offers users free domestic telephone calls, deeply discounted international calls and SMS messages, could be seen in the eyes of AT&T as a huge threat. Because of this the FCC is also investigating more on what role AT&T played in the rejection. AT&T told the FCC that it had no part in the decision, while Apple claims it never happened. Apple told the FCC on Friday that it has not "rejected" the application, but that they are still "studying it, in part because of privacy concerns".

iPhone 3GS 720p and 1080p Ready

iPhone 3GS 720p and 1080p Ready

It's nice to know when you find out your $199 iToy has more capabilities then you though.  Now whether you can actually take advantage of these newly discovered functions are a different story! On a popular iPhone Forum across the pond a member posts a complete "How To" guide that demonstrates 720p/1080p video processing on the iPhone. Being able to play these hi-res movies on the iPhone is kinda pointless right now since the max resolution on the current screen is only 480x320.

However how awesome would it be to pipe it out via video cable (HDMI?) to HDTV. Very cool but that would bring up another problem.  Videos this size and quality would be enormous and would require alot more  iPhone storage. How far off can 128GB / 256GB iPhones really be?
